Jan. 19,, 1998	The Staff Shareholding Committee held its 2nd meeting of the first session of the member representative general meeting. The meeting discussed and passed the "1997 operation work report", the profit distribution plan for year 1997, and the provisional regulations on the transfer of stock rights, etc.
Jan. 26, 1998	A batch of 50 Dazhong taxis installed with GPS receivers which were the first in China were put into operation. The revenues of the first two days' operation were donated to the earthquake-stricken areas in Shangyi and Zhangbei of Hebei province. At the same day, a donating ceremony was staged among all the managerial personnel of the headquarters of "Dazhong Taxi" and 'Dazhong Hotel", the total amount of contribution reached to some 50,000 yuan.

Apr. 1, 1998	An agreement signing ceremony with Fudan University to establish a management training base was held at Dazhong Hotel. Officials from Dazhong, Yang Guoping, Zhou Xiuhua , Li Jiajun, Yuan Liming, etc. and from the Management Institution of Fudan University, president Zheng Shaolian, vice president Wu Lipeng and associate professor Su Yong attended the ceremony.
Apr. 11, 1998	The company presented communication instruments worth 100, 000 yuan to the Patrolling General Brigade of Shanghai Municipality.

Apr. 18, 1998	The company held an opening ceremony for the GPS auto automatic dispatching system in Broadcasting and TV Tower, which marked Shanghai's entrance into the world advanced group in terms of taxi dispatching. May 1, 1998	Vice mayor of Shanghai Municipality Han Zheng and his company visited Dazhong to convey their festival greetings. May 26, 1998	'97 Shareholder's Annual Meeting of the company was held at the hall of Shanghai City Government. The meeting audited and passed the plan for the profit distribution of the company in the year 1997 and for the capital increase in the year 1998.
June 1, 1998	"Dazhong Taxi" was the first in Chinese taxi industry to carry forward the measure of department sterilization for all its operation vehicles.
June 17, 1998	In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the company, a seminar on the strategies for "Dazhong Taxi" to face the 21st century was held. At the meeting, the inscription written by Premier Zhu Rongji for the company on May 10, 1998 to acknowledge the 10-year-development of the company and the encouraging remarks made by secretary of the city party committee Huang Ju on May 29 1998 were read out in public.
June 18, 1998	The company announced that during the trial operation of GPS auto dispatching system in the company, from 12 p.m. at the beginning day, the calling fee for booking a taxi was gratis for everyone who dialed 62188888 and 62581688.
June 21, 1998	The unveiling ceremony for the establishment of Dazhong-Fudan Management Training Base and the opening of the first MBA training class were held in Fudan University. Company leaders Yang Guoping, Zhou Xiuhua and Li Jiajun, president of the management institute of Fudan University Tang Guoxing and 40 MBA students attended the ceremony.
July 1, 1998	The company held an activity of "Drawing Lucky Prize by Taking Dazhong Taxi", passenger who took Dazhong taxi and kept the receipt was eligible to take part in the drawing and had a chance to win handsome prize.
July 8, 1998	The company was transferred 7.5 million state-owned shares in Shanghai Jiaoyun Co. Ltd., accounting for 8.195% of the total shares of Jiaoyun, thus the company became the primary legal person shareholder.
Aug. 8, 1998	Shanghai Dazhong Sanqi Public Transportation Co., Ltd., invested and organized by the company and Shanghai Sanqi Public Transportation Co., staged an opening ceremony.
Aug. 18, 1998	Co-operated by the company and the Central Hospital of Huangpu district, "Huangpu Dazhong" was formally put into operation, which created a new mode of reorganization in the taxi line in Shanghai. Meanwhile, "Dazhong Taxi" invested 1 million yuan as the rewarding fund for the hygiene talents of Huangpu Dazhong.
Aug. 25, 1998	Co-sponsored by the company, Shanghai Automotive Industry Cooperation (Group), Shanghai TV Station and Shanghai Song & Dance Ensemble, a charity performance for combating flood and cherishing the people in the flood-stricken areas was staged on Shanghai Majestic Theatre, and the company donated 400,000 yuan.
Aug. 26, 1998	The company, Shanghai Charity Foundation and the Labour Newspaper Office co-organized an activity named "Dazhong Cup" to help those students from families of laid-off workers. 125 industrious students from the underprivileged families of laid-off workers were benefited from it.
