Feb. 16, 1999	The year 1999 is the year of Int'l Elderly. On the first day of the Chinese lunar year, all the driving and managerial staff from the headquarters of Dazhong and "Pudong Dazhong" donated 110,000 yuan to Shanghai Elderly Foundation as the fund to subsidize those in need.
Mar. 15, 1999	In response to the guiding principal of Shanghai Municipality, the company reduced taxi drivers' rental chargers by 350 yuan each to lighten the burden of drivers and speed up the building of a professional driving team. The company thereby split an annual 40- million-yuan of its revenue.
Apr. 27, 1999	Yang Guoping, general manager of "Dazhong Transportation", was invited to attend the '99 China Enterprise Summit organized by the World Economic Forum.
Apr. 28, 1999	A picture album in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the founding of "Dazhong Transportation" was published. The album truthfully reflected the growth of the company and many events the company had involved with a large amount of precious pictures.
Apr. 30, 1999	Results of the 3rd session of the selection for "Outstanding Youth of Dazhong" came out. Feng Wei, Fu Baohui, Sun Xiaojie, Wang Zixin, Li Qiang, Chen Lihua, Chen Jingfeng, Ji Yong, Tang Ying, Gu Yan and Jia Weiling were on the list.
May 18, 1999	Shanghai Dazhong Int'l Forwarding &Trans Co. Ltd. was open for business, marking a remarkable stride forward into the field of air freight.
June 19, 1999	Shanghai Dazhong Int'l Travel Service organized a thousand Shanghai residents heading for Yuyao of Zhejiang province to take part in the Festival of Red Bayberry there. The activity aimed to promote the economic and cultural exchanges between Shanghai and Yuyao, and also a Dazhong Hope School was established in the poverty-stricken area of Yuyao by the donation of Dazhong.
June 28, 1999	"Dazhong Transportation" set up a Dazhong State Guest Fleet. The newly-established fleet was equipped with 100 cars of Benz and Buick, each installed with the state-of-the-art GPS equipment.
June 29, 1999	"Dazhong Transportation" held its 1998 Shareholder's General Meeting. The meeting discussed and passed the "1998 profit distribution plan" of the company, and proposals on the changing of the company name and on the additional offering of 140 million legal person shares to Shanghai Pudong Dazhong Taxi Co., Ltd.
July 1, 1999	The whole fleet of "Dazhong Taxi" adopted the annual replacement system, not only guaranteeing the sound interior and exterior conditions of Dazhong taxis but also facilitating the overall improvement of the taxi appearances in the whole taxi industry of Shanghai.
July 14, 1999	"Model Stand" and "Shanghai Model Unit" of "Dazhong Transportation" held their unveiling ceremonies in the activity of the creation of national spiritual civilization carried out by the company.
July 14, 1999	Dazhong Hotel was successfully appraised as a three-star hotel by China National Tourism Administration and held the celebrating ceremony.
July 30, 1999	The company convened the 4th provisional meeting of board of directors. At the meeting, the bill on the investment of 120 million yuan to purchase shares of Guotai Jun'an Securities Co., Ltd. was discussed and passed.
Aug. 2, 1999	"Pudong Dazhong" and the company changed their names respectively into Dazhong Enterprises of Science and Technology (Dazhong Sci-tech for short) and Dazhong Transportation (Group) Co., Ltd. (Dazhong Transportation for short).
Aug. 2, 1999	Dazhong Express Co., Ltd. was open to business with the first batch of 100 transportation vans being put into operation.
Sep. 3, 1999	5,000 Dazhong taxis were installed with brand-new roof-top lamps which was unified in the taxi trade, becoming the first taxi company in Shanghai accomplishing the two-uniformity-roof-top lamp and the enterprise color of the taxi cabs.
Sep. 15, 1999	48 Dazhong cars participated in the opening ceremony of the newly-built middle section of the elevated Yan'an Rd. Till then, the company had successively taken part in the opening ceremonies of many key projects of Shanghai Municipality, such as Yangpu Bridge, Inner Ring Elevated Rd., Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressways and so on.
Sep. 24, 1999	With the investment of 1.5 million yuan, a cruiser named after Dazhong was launched from the shipyard of Suzhou creek. The cruiser was mainly responsible for the tasks of cruising and reception on Suzhou creek.
Oct. 1, 1999	Pudong Airport Public Line 3 run by "Dazhong Bus" was put into operation.
Oct. 13~16, Oct. 19~22 1999	Chairwoman of the board of directors of "Dazhong Transportation" Zhou Xiuhua, assistant general managers Zhang Xilin and Zhao Weilun, department managers of the headquarters and managers of the subsidiaries of Dazhong went to Guangdong and Shandong respectively, exchanging ideas with noted entrepreneurs in Huawei of Shenzhen and Haier of Qingdao.
Oct. 26, 1999	Punan Dazhong Public Transportation Co. was established with "Dazhong Transportation" holding 37 % of its shares. The business scope of the company mainly covered passenger transportation and coach leasing in the suburban areas of Jinshan and Fengxian.
Nov. 6, 1999	Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, Shanghai Municipality and Shanghai Garrison Command rewarded Yang Guoping, general manager of Dazhong, the title of "Advanced Individual on Defense Education".
Nov. 18, 1999	99' Shanghai Int'l Urban Transportation Seminar was co-organized by "Dazhong Transportation". Experts, scholars and managerial personnel of large-scaled public transportation operation companies and taxi companies from Germany, Australia, Japan and China gathered together to talk about the prospects of the development of the urban transportation in the new century.
Dec. 30, 1999	Dazhong Taxi Operation Co. introduced "zero-mistake service" to the society. And cooperated with Shanghai Guomai Communications Co., Ltd., Dazhong-Guomai intelligence calling system was opened, providing nearly 12,000 drivers of Dazhong with uniformed pagers offering information services in Chinese.
Dec. 30, 1999	Dazhong Ticketing Center was opened to business.
