In the spirit of "reforming and developing the public transport" put forward by Shanghai Municipality, at the end of 1995, Pudong Dazhong Public Transport Co., a brand new enterprise of public transport and passenger traffic, was founded. The current operation vehicles of the company are 716, bus lines 42. The operation lines are based in Pudong new area, radiating to 5 districts of Yangpu, Huangpu, Nanshi, Luwai and Jinshan and 2 counties of Nanhui and Fenxian. The company has five departments and one office(operation department, maintenance department, personnel and security department, planning and financial department and comprehensive development department plus an administrative office). Affiliates of the company involve four operation companies, one repairing company and one out-repair factory. Motto of the company is "Dazhong Public Transport Serves the Community".
